Reasons Why SSDs Are Replacing HDDs

Comparing SSDs with HDDs:
Performance
An SSD is nearly 100 times faster than HDD. Due to which programs can run more quickly, which is very significant.Multitasking
An SSD enables you to multitask like a pro — with little to no lag time because of its improved data access capabilities.
Affordability
The price
of a solid-state drive is higher than an HDD, which is why most
computers with an SSD only have an SSD with gigabytes of storage with
one or more HDDs for additional storage. Although prices have been
coming down for years, SSDs are still more expensive per gigabyte than
hard drives. For similar amounts of storage, you could end up paying
nearly twice as much for an SSD than an HDD — and even more at higher
capacities.
Reliability
The SSD
uses flash memory to store data, which provides better performance and
reliability over an HDD. It has no moving parts whereas HDD has moving
parts, meaning the more use they get, the faster they wear down and
fail.
Storage Capacity
Although
there are large SSDs, anything over 1 TB SSD is usually outside of most
people's price range whereas HDDs are available in some quite massive
sizes at affordable prices.
Battery Life
The SSD uses less power than a standard HDD, which means an increase in battery life.
Noise & Heat
With no
moving parts, SSD generates no noise whereas an HDD can sometimes be one
of the loudest components in your computer. Also, as there are no
moving parts, the SSD generates less heat, helping to increase its
lifespan and reliability.
At Last,
the popularity of SSD is increasing day by day and its cost is
decreasing. But still, due to its high cost and less storage capacity,
HDDs are used along with SSDs in PC and Laptops.
