SMARTPHONE TRENDS IN 2020
So guys finally the
year 2020 is here and so is the new decade. The smartphone market witnessed a
number of trends in the last decade such as thinning of bezels, introductions
of dual, triple and even quad camera modules by the end of the decade, different
locations for the front camera such as the Mix line up by Xiaomi sported it at
the bottom right corner on the chin of the smartphone and then came the Vivo
NEX, the first smartphone sporting a full display in true sense which also
started the trend of pop up selfie cameras.

We saw a significant increase in the number of megapixels that
smartphone cameras used to have on the spec sheet with the arrival of 32
megapixels, 48 megapixels, 64 megapixels and even 108 megapixels camera modules
in smartphones. Also a lot changed on the display front where the concept
design named as the Essential phone by Andy Rubin built up all the hype by its
drop notch design and then Apple set the notch display trend in motion when it
revealed its iPhone X.

The smartphones in
2020 are mostly going to be about the foldable displays and more and more
flagship devices in the budget range. The master players such as the Korean
tech giant Samsung and Huawei have already launched their first generation of
the foldable phones like Galaxy fold and Huawei Mate X. Soon the currently
emerging brands as far as the premium price segment is considered like Oneplus,
Oppo and Vivo will enter the foldable smartphone game and reveal their devices.
Followed up by budget midrange oriented companies such as Xiaomi and Realme by
Oppo bringing out their respective devices. Also the market shares are going to
experience a turn by the daring moves of the new player Realme in the budget
and midrange flagship segment. Realme's shares rose to 14.3 percent, while Xiaomi’s market share is
around 27.1 percent, followed by Samsung with 18.9 percent and Vivo with 15.2
percent market share in Q3 2019.
Realme sold over 15 million smartphones in its
very first year and stole the limelight at the end of the decade
by launching its first flagship, the Realme X2 Pro at a price of
27999 INRs which claims to be the fastest charging flagship of India having its
USP as 50 watt Super VOOC Fast Charging which is Oppo's very own version of
fast charging technology.

Also
we are going to see more and more gaming smartphones from the brands like Asus
with it ROG phone line up and a few new entrants. So the smartphone market
in 2020 will mostly revolve around bigger and bigger screens and more and more
performance centric phone making it to the new
budget flagship segment.
