Redmi K30 review 4G vs 5G

DESIGN:
The Redmi K30 comes with a glass finish in blue, pink, purple colour variants and all has a shiny gradient finish at the back ,the camera is been surrounded by a radial 3D finish which is very much reflective. The front and back is powered with a Gorilla Glass 5  for protection.

DISPLAY:
The Redmi k30 comes with a 6.67 inch screen with a full HD+ IPS LCD display ,this is a downgrade from the Redmi K20 because it has a super-amoled display, but the redmi compensates it with  a 120Hz dispaly for the smoother user experience. The full screen display is been replaced with a dual punch hole cutout for the selfies.
This can be a dealbreaker for the media consumers ,but still it is a great display for all the day to day tasks like browsing, gaming etc.. when considering its price point.

PERFORNMANCE:
The Redmi k30 4G variant features a snapdragon 730G with octa-core (2.2 GHz Kryo 470) CPU and Adreno 618 GPU and the 5G variant has the 765G processor, it is the only major difference between the two smart phones.
While comparing it to the Redmi k20 there isn't any big difference between the snapdragen 730 and 730G chips ,theoritically 730G it has 15% GPU improvement  over the snapdragon 730 chipset. But the 765G can handle the 120Hz display than better than the 730G.

CAMERA:
The Redmi k30 features a quad camera set up at the back, the primary camera is the 64MP shooter which takes photos by pixel binding technology, with the adoptation of the 2020's flagship Sony IMX 686 sensor,it takes 16MP shots by default, the shots were taken an F- 1.89 aperture with the pixel size of 1.6 micron, the secondary camera is an 8MP ultrawide camera which is 120 degree wider, the next camera on the list is a 2MP depth sensor.
Another thing to note is that Redmi has sacrificed the telephoto camera which is there on the Redmi k20,if they have provided the telephoto camera this would have been the killer quad  camera set up at its price range the final camera is a 2MP Macro lens ,but  the 5G variant has a 5MP Macro camera but there isn't any big difference between these two cameras,it just seems to be a marketing strategy

On the front there is a dual camera setup with a combination of 20MP Primary+2MP depth sensor as the brands use better software optimisation for the potrait shots,So the replacement of an ultrawide angle camera instead of the depth sensor would have been better for wider view selfies.

There is a dedicated night mode for the low-light shots which is good but the night shots
turn even more dramatic if you use the G-Cam

NOTE:
➧In G-Cam the ultrawide and Macro does not work till now may be the newer version which provides access to all the cameras may come in the future. But the night sight works perfectly than the stock camera and the night mode also works with the selfies which is not there in the stock camera

BATTERY:
Redmi K30 comes with a 4500Mah battery and it supports 27 watt fast charger and the good news is that the charger comes out of the box,Redmi claims that the battery gets fully charged from 0-100% in 68 min.In a full charge the battery can last for 1.5 days in a moderate usage.

OTHER FEATUES:
The smartphone has all the basic sensors and the fingerprint sensor has been physically fixed on the power button at the right, the absence of in-display finger print sensor is due to the lack of the super-amoled display, the face unlock is very accurate and NFC support is there for the Chinese version but the Indian variant do not support the NFC,It is good to see that the Redmi retained the headphone jack and IR-Blaster.

The Redmi k30  comes with base variant of 64 GB of internal storage with 6 GB of RAM, second variant 128 GB of internal storage with 6 GB of RAM, third variant 128 GB of internal storage with 8 GB of RAM and fourth variant 256 GB of internal storage with 8 GB of RAM.
